Backup Firefox - Why do I need to backup my Firefox Bookmarks?
Backing up your Firefox Bookmarks is a good idea, either to burnable media or BackupRight. Otherwise, if you loose your data you will no longer have all of your favorite websites saved.
How do I backup my Firefox Bookmarks to CD or DVD?
- Step 1: Launch Firefox.
- Step 2: From the 'Bookmarks' menu, select 'Manage Bookmarks...'.
- Step 3: From the 'File' menu in the 'Bookmarks Manager', select 'Export'.
- Step 4: Navigate to the location where you wish to save your backup file.
- Step 5: You can now burn the exported bookmarks file to CD or DVD.
Restoring your Firefox Bookmarks backup file from CD or DVD
- Step 1: Launch Firefox.
- Step 2: Insert your backup CD or DVD.
- Step 3: From the 'Bookmarks' menu, select 'Manage Bookmarks...'.
- Step 4: From the 'File' menu in the 'Bookmarks Manager', select 'Export'.
- Step 5: Select 'From File' from the 'Import Bookmarks from' option and click 'Continue'.
- Step 6: Click the 'Browse' button and select the file you wish to restore from.
- Step 7: Click 'OK' to restore your bookmarks.

- Step 1: Launch BackupRight and login.
- Step 2: From the 'Restore' menu and 'Select Restore Source', select 'Firefox Bookmark Backup'.
- Step 3: In the 'Restore Source' section, check the box next to the first directory.
- Step 4: Click the 'Restore Files' button.
- Step 5: In the 'Restore Files' window select where you want the restored files to be saved.
- Step 6: Click 'Start'.
